Winter weather is finally upon us. With the upcoming snow and bitter cold temperatures, here are some things to remember to keep your internet functioning properly:
1. Do not try to move your outdoor ethernet cable in sub-freezing temperature. If the cable is older the cable can crack and water get in the signal wires. This can cause shorting and transmission errors.
2. If a substantial amount of snow or ice accumulates on the antenna, service interruption can occur. Until this happens please refrain from knocking ice and snow off of the transmitter and antenna. If the time comes when the accumulating precipitation need to be removed, first call cowboy.net to check for a tower outage. If there is no outage, gently brush any snow off of the antenna. Do not hit or shake the antenna. If ice accumulates lightly tap on the back side of the antenna with a broom stick, be careful off falling ice as it can cause injury. Again do not beat or shake the antenna as this can cause mis-alignment. If still without internet, contact cowboy.net so that a technician can resolve the issue.
We hope these tips help with with keeping you connected in the winter weather. As always thanks for choosing cowboy.net.

The cowboy staff is hard at work preparing our tower in Pawnee. If you have friends or family in Pawnee, let them know that High Speed internet is coming their way!
After many long hours of climbing the Guthrie and Perry towers, the Guthrie tower is now fully functional. A few changes still have to be made but these will cause limited service interruption, probably unnoticeable.
