We practice heavy weapon fighting styles with sword & shield, as well as light weapons styles with rapier. We also practice target archery, and combat archery. (And occasionaly we attack castle walls with catapults.) When not practicing the arts of war, we indulge in feasts that are legendary, music that is sweet, and dancing that leaves even the youngest gasping for breath.
We meet weekly as a Shire to learn more about the middle ages, and to practice & learn new skills. On special weekends we travel to events where Tournaments of Skill are held. These tournaments are fought on list fields surrounded by pavillions & fluttering banners. Every person on the site is in medieval clothing. Champions are chosen, bards are made, and prizes given to those skilled at the art of embroidery, metal-work, brewing, and all works of the hand. The end of the day generally brings a Court held by a representative of the King. The night brings dancing, bardic fires, and tales of valor.
