PAYNE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY is organized to bring together people interested in history and
especially the history of Payne County, Oklahoma. The Society's major function is to discover and collect any materials that may help to
establish or illustrate the history of the area.
Membership Information
Membership in the Payne Country Historical Society is open to anyone interested in the collection and preservation of Payne County history.
Membership dues are:
$12 for Individual Membership
$17 for Family Membership
$20 for Institutional Membership
$100 for Life Membership

Payne County Historical Review
The Payne County Historical Review is published semi-annually by the Payne County Historical Society. It is distributed without
additional charge to members of the Payne County Historical Society. Single issues, when available, may be purchased at $3.50 each.
The Payne County Historical Review welcomes reader's comments, news, or requests for information from readers. Family histories,
photographs, or maps are also welcome. No payment is made for articles published in the Review. Correspondence should be addressed
to the Editor, Payne County Historical Society, P.O. Box 2262, Stillwater, OK 74076. The Society assumes no responsibility for statements
made by contributors.
Projects
The Society continually fosters preservation and promotion of Payne County history. In addition to the publication of the Payne County
Historical Review, the Society was instrumental in the establishment of the David L. Payne Memorial and preservation of other historical
monuments and markers. In addition, the Society has established an archives in the Stillwater Public Library for photographs and documents
to foster further historical research.
Meetings
Regular meetings, featuring topics with historical significance to Payne County, are held quarterly. Board meetings, open to the entire
membership, are held monthly except during those months when regular meetings are held.
